Tell us about your career path at Nestlé Purina.
I have proudly dedicated the past seven years to Purina, where my journey in Talent Acquisition has been both fulfilling and dynamic. I began my career as a contract recruiter and quickly transitioned into a full-time role specializing in recruiting for our IT organization. Over the last three years, I have embraced a leadership position, guiding a talented team of recruiters focused on the commercial side of our business.
In my current role, I leverage cutting-edge tools and advanced reporting systems, empowering my team and me to strategically attract and secure top talent for our organization. I am committed to continuous improvement and have actively pursued various internal training and educational opportunities to enhance my skills for both my current and future roles.
Additionally, my time at Nestlé Purina has been enriched by personal milestones, as I have welcomed three wonderful children into my family and have taken full advantage of our generous leave benefits for each addition. This balance of professional growth and personal fulfillment makes my experience here truly remarkable!
What was the process like of working with HR to plan for leave?
I worked closely with my HR business Partner and a leaves specialist to understand the documentation that would be needed leading up to the birth of my baby, when baby arrived, and when I return. They made this an easy, stress-free process, that allowed me to have each baby without a worry of my benefits going into effect.
How has the Parent Support Policy and benefits impacted your family?
Nestlé offers an incredibly generous parental leave policy, providing up to 18 weeks of paid leave, with the option to extend to 26 weeks. When I welcomed my first daughter, I took full advantage of this benefit by transitioning to part-time work after the initial 18 weeks. This gradual approach allowed both my baby and me to adjust comfortably to our new routine.
I am immensely grateful for the six months I spent at home with my children, focusing on motherhood and nurturing our bond. This time was not only vital for my recovery but also instrumental in creating priceless memories with each of my little ones and adjust our lives for each addition. The experiences we shared during those early months are moments I will cherish forever.
How has Purina supported you as a parent?
Purina has provided me with exceptional support in numerous ways throughout my journey as a parent. During each of my pregnancies, my manager offered me ample time and flexibility to accommodate all of my doctor appointments, ensuring I felt cared for and valued. Shortly after the arrival of each of my children, the company surprised me with a personalized picture frame featuring my baby’s birth statistics.
During my parental leaves, I was able to fully disconnect from work and dedicate myself to my most important role: being a mom. Upon my return, I have successfully maintained a wonderful work-life balance, allowing me to excel in my career while remaining fully present for my children outside of work.
My team has been incredibly supportive during times when my children have been unwell, accommodating doctors' appointments, and any unforeseen circumstances that may arise. Additionally, the campus offers fantastic perks, such as the Mothers Lounge and a store providing discounted baby food and snacks, making life a little easier for parents.
Overall, Purina has set me up for success both at work and at home, empowering me to be the best version of myself in every aspect of my life!
