After 25 years, what motivates you to deliver your best at work?
“What motivates me is knowing that my work truly makes a difference—not just in driving results, but in the lives of the people and pets we serve. I’m inspired by the relationships I’ve built over the years and the opportunity to mentor and support new employees as they begin their careers. I’ve worked with hundreds of people and formed lifelong friendships. My coworkers have stood by me through some of the most meaningful moments in my life—from celebrating the birth of my youngest child to supporting me through the loss of my mother. When I think about retirement, it’s the people I’ll miss most.”
What is your favorite part of coming to work each day?
“Without a doubt, it’s the people. The friendships, shared goals, and mutual respect make work feel like home. After so many years, this team feels like family—and in many ways, it is. I also love the challenge of my role. People often think accounting is routine or mundane, but it’s far from that. Every day brings new opportunities to learn and grow—and even after 25 years, I’m still learning new things.”
Amy, Vice President — Manufacturing
What makes you proud to work at Purina?
“Every time I see a pet owner enjoying time with their pet, I get this sense of pride that we make that possible every day through the work we do together. Whether it’s in the food that we make, the litter boxes we fill, or the treat that a pet receives, we are a part of that bond. I’m also so proud of how we uphold who we are and what we stand for—and that is the producer of safe, quality products in trusted brands.”
What brings you a sense of purpose in your work?
“I have a great responsibility to lead inside of the organization and deliver on so many fronts. From caring for our people, to delivering safe, quality products all while ensuring that our consumers are delighted with our products. We make an impact in all of the work we do.”
Adam, Sr Manager — Human Resources
What achievements or milestones during your 25 years with the company are you most proud of?
“The most rewarding achievements in my career will always be the successes helping employees identify, pursue, and achieve their desired career goals. The correct route to crafting a career is not always obvious in an organization as large and varied as Purina. I really enjoy helping associates simplify and prioritize their strategies.”
What hopes do you have for the future of our organization?
“I’ve been with Purina longer in life than I haven’t. The checkerboard is truly part of my family. This organization has enabled me and my family to achieve professional and personal goals I never thought possible.
I have many hopes for Purina’s future, but mostly I’ll refer back to the key lessons the organization has already taught me. No matter what we encounter down the road... we’ll continue to trust ourselves as an organization, seek input on how to improve, and remain true to who we are as a company, employer, and culture .”
