What does a day look like for you in your role, and what do you find most rewarding about your career?
I embrace daily challenges that foster collaboration and networking with teams across the globe. These interactions enable me to build strategic relationships, share expertise, and establish myself as a trusted reference point within the organization. Leveraging strategic thinking and proactive planning, I focus on safeguarding business continuity and ensuring operational resilience.
Explain your experience with professional development and career growth at Nestlé IT & Digital Americas
Having a mentor in my professional journey is a true game changer. Since joining the organization, colleagues have provided me with the freedom and trust to design and implement processes that deliver strong results. This empowerment significantly increases my influence within the company and opens doors for growth. Additionally, I network and receive guidance in developing leadership soft skills that enable me to succeed in my role of Senior Manager. At the same time, I’m offered invaluable informal coaching, helping me gain a deeper understanding of the organization and accelerating connections with other teams across Nestlé.
What strategies do you employ to stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends?
I am a technologist at heart, with a lifelong respect for technology and a disciplined commitment to continuous learning through leading industry publications. As a university professor in Mexico, I stay current on state-of –the-art trends—Big Data, Business Intelligence, and Artificial Intelligence—to enrich my students’ learning and, in parallel, translate these innovations into practical value for Nestlé, advancing our digital transformation agenda.
Can you describe a challenge you faced in your role and how support from your colleagues or management helped you overcome it?
I had the opportunity to take ownership of a global project designed to transform Supply Chain & Procurement operations—shifting from a reactive to a proactive model while embedding best practices along the way. This initiative is a cornerstone for driving operational excellence and resilience across markets. Collaboration and networking with colleagues from Supply Chain & Procurement and other functional streams have been instrumental in gaining a comprehensive end-to-end understanding of processes. This knowledge enables us to implement improvements and new processes that strengthen market protection through enhanced monitoring and closer business engagement.
If you could have any superpower to help you in your role, what would it be and why?
Drawing inspiration from Doctor Strange, leveraging the Eye of Agamotto would enable us to visualize millions of potential future scenarios—allowing us to anticipate risks, prevent issues, and identify the most optimal path for implementing new functionalities without disrupting business operations, while enhancing performance. Additionally, accessing the Mirror Dimension would provide a secure, controlled environment where we can think freely, explore creative and out-of-the-box solutions, and run all necessary simulations and tests—ensuring innovation thrives while business continuity remains fully protected and safeguarded.
