Greg's Journey: From Intern to Impactful Leader at Nestlé

Read on to learn about Greg, who has not only expanded his skill set within the Nestlé business but also found a place of support, passion, and understanding within our culture.

I joined Nestlé 26 years ago as an intern, beginning a journey defined by continuous learning and growth. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to take on more than 10 roles across sales, retail, analytics—building a broad understanding of the business and developing diverse skills along the way. For me, career growth has always been about experience and exposure: a willingness to embrace new challenges, step into the unknown, and learn by doing.

One of the most defining moments in my journey was deciding to step out of my comfort zone and take a role within IT & Digital Americas. Coming from a business background, entering the technology space was both challenging and rewarding—pushing me to develop new skills, new ways of thinking, and a deeper curiosity for how digital solutions can reshape how we work. Today, I see firsthand how technology has become the engine of transformation, helping the business become more agile, efficient, and future-ready while enabling better, data-driven decision-making across the organization. In my current role, I support sustainability initiatives tied to key business priorities, which has given me a broader perspective on how technology can create impact—not only operationally, but in ways that deliver shared value for the business, our communities, and the environment.

At the same time, my experience has been deeply shaped by the importance of inclusion. As a person with a lifelong physical disability, having a work environment built on respect, empathy, and support has been essential to my development. Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to work with leaders and teams who actively create spaces where everyone feels valued, included, and empowered to contribute in their own way. That sense of belonging has made a meaningful difference not only in my performance, but also in my motivation and long-term growth. It has reinforced my belief that people do their best work when they feel genuinely supported and seen.

Our IT & Digital uses on supporting people with disabilities, health conditions, and caregivers. As we’ve expanded the community to hubs like Milan and Barcelona, our impact has grown globally—raising awareness, driving meaningful conversations, and advancing a more inclusive and accessible workplace for everyone, today and in the future. It has also given me the opportunity to give back, support others, and help shape a culture rooted in empathy and collaboration. Being part of this effort has been one of the most meaningful aspects of my career, because it connects personal purpose with organizational impact.

Today, I also see how technology plays a critical role in advancing inclusion. Digital tools, especially those powered by AI, are transforming how we work and access information—making it more adaptable and accessible to different needs and learning styles. Whether it’s simplifying complex information or enabling more flexible ways of working, these solutions not only boost productivity but also remove barriers and open new opportunities for people to grow, contribute, and succeed. I believe this is one of the most powerful aspects of technology: when used with intention, it can make work more human, inclusive, and empowering for everyone.
