Building Trust, Enabling Progress

Not every career is driven by a passion for technology. Sometimes, what truly shapes a professional journey is something much simpler: the desire to help others. That is what has guided Andrés throughout his career.

Long before he became a Functional Relationship Manager for Security & Compliance in Mexico, he had already developed strong technical expertise in cybersecurity and compliance. Yet when he reflects on what has been most meaningful about his journey, he rarely talks about systems, frameworks, or certifications.

When reflecting on the most significant moments of his professional journey, he recalls moments where guidance was needed to reach a consensus, teams looking to drive a new initiative forward, and business partners navigating complex situations. For him, the true value of his work lies in helping others move forward with clarity and confidence.

"I see my role as a translator, a connector, and a business partner."  It is a description that captures not only what he does, but how he approaches his work every day.

"Across Nestlé, teams are constantly exploring new ideas, technologies, and ways of working. My role is to help them understand risks, make informed decisions, and move forward with confidence. Rather than focusing on obstacles, I focus on finding ways to enable progress while keeping security at the center of the solution."

Building that trust has become one of the most rewarding aspects of his work. Although Andrés joined Nestlé with a solid background in Security & Compliance, the organization challenged him in ways he did not expect. The scale was larger, and the environment was more complex.

"Nestlé has represented constant learning. My role requires me to connect the business in Mexico with different cybersecurity teams, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and collaborate with colleagues across functions and countries."

Andrés discovered that creating impact went beyond technical expertise. It required listening, adapting, and bringing people together to align perspectives, build trust, and help teams move forward toward shared goals.

Over the years, Andrés has come to believe that the true impact of Security and Compliance lies not only in policies and processes, but also in how people are supported. For him, the most lasting difference comes from helping teams overcome challenges, build confidence, and find solutions that enable them to move forward.

Looking back, Andrés sees his journey at Nestlé as one of continuous growth.

"This experience has not only consolidated my knowledge; it has also strengthened my confidence. Seeing that the strategies and ideas we put into practice are helping teams make better decisions and work more securely has shown me how much I have grown and how much more I can continue learning."

For Andrés, trust remains at the core of everything he does. It extends beyond the trust consumers place in Nestlé or the responsibility of protecting the company’s information and technology. It is also about something more immediate and personal: the trust built between people that enables collaboration to happen naturally.
