Pilot Plant Technician

This position is responsible for assisting with organizing and performing pilot plant trials and associated support work under general supervision.

1.Organize and prepare formulations, as per NesTMS requirements, and perform pilot plant trials in a safe and efficient manner
2.Set-up, operate and clean food-processing equipment
3.Maintain equipment in good sanitary and working condition
4.Maintain a safe, clean and sanitary work area
5.Organize and record data as outlined in the pilot plant request
6.Prepare summaries of trial results with recommendations for processing/product improvements based on observations
7.Working skills/knowledge of equipment and unit operations in the pilot plant
8.Adhere to all facility policies concerning safety, security, Good Laboratory and Good Manufacturing Practices (GLP & GMP)
9.Travel as required for factory trials, factory start-ups or training
10.Practice safety in the work area
Light mechanical repair/plumbing as required
Interact with project teams and participate in project discussions as required 
Actively participate in cross-training as needed as well as learning new skills required due to technology advances
Reviews/Updates SOP’s and SSOP’s
Additional duties as assigned 

Receives supervision from the Pilot Plant Supervisor


JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Knowledge):
High School Diploma (or GED) 
Working knowledge of factory type equipment operations
Willingness to become a licensed fork lift operator
Good mechanical skills or aptitude
Good teamwork, interpersonal, communication, organization, math and writing skills
Computer literacy
