As the Warehouse Team Leader, you are responsible for executing all day-to-day operating activities of the Mechanicsburg Warehouses that involves safe, efficient, accurate, and secure storage of inventory.   You will also lead effort for completing outbound and inbound shipments and production receipt at or below budget and in a safe, efficient, and sanitary manner.  You will demonstrate leadership through safety by adhering to company policies (safety, personnel, labor relations, financial controls, quality assurance, etc.) and for recommending and implementing improvements within distribution operations. Our Warehouse Team Leaders help direct operations by the Mechanicsburg mission, “Safely produce quality products at the right rate and right time, using NCE.” Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE).

Nestlé Purina has a large presence in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania with our factory being one of the largest manufacturers in the area and produces a large portion of Nestlé Purina’s dry pet food portfolio, including Puppy Chow®, Dog Chow®, Beneful®, Pro Plan®, Alpo®, Kitten Chow®, Cat Chow®, Friskies®, Nestlé Purina ONE® and Kit ‘N Kaboodle®. Beyond our work in pet food production, we support various local animal shelters and organizations (Susquehanna Service Dogs Organization and Woofstock among others) to more deeply impact our ability to enrich the lives of pets everywhere.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Safety
    • Ensure a safe work environment for all employees
    • Maintain a sanitary work environment through team involvement in all areas of sanitation
  • Leadership 
    • Participate in warehouse cost meetings and other plant related meetings
    • Supervise work related to daily schedule so that customer goals are reached
    • Monitor direct reports, complete performance reviews and warehouse productivity assessments on an ongoing basis
    • Oversees training and development of new hires and warehouse bid job holders
  • Operations
    • Review plant operations daily to ensure efficiency, address issues, and look for improvement opportunities
    • Update KRONOS system daily
    • Coordinate and participate in finished product inventories
    • Develop and maintain software systems expertise to represent, communicate, and resolve issues and provide opportunities to improve systems and efficiencies in warehouse operations

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):
Education & Experience:  
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3+ years of strong management experience in warehousing or distribution environment
  • Must be willing to work off-shift (12am – 8am)

Preferred:
  • Experience with inventory computer systems, SAP, Warehouse Management Systems
  • Manufacturing experience
