The opportunity has arisen for a Principal Scientist - Chemist to join our Nestle Nutrition R&D Centers, Inc. facility located in Fremont, Michigan.
Main purpose of job:
Provide technical leadership in Analytical Chemistry and expertise to support Global Infant & Toddler Meals & Drinks Nestle Nutrition innovation/renovation projects, research and development, and manufacturing.
Act as a technical leader of Analytical Chemistry. Provide analytical services and ensure optimal functioning of the Chemistry laboratory in providing high quality analytical supports.
Responsible for developing and validating analytical methods and new technology advancement; identify, justify, adapt and implement new state-of-the-art technologies.
Responsible for maintaining the adequate Analytical Chemistry proficiency test programs. Responsible for performing root cause analysis and applying corrective actions if needed.
Responsible for ensuring technical adequacy and competency of analytical instrument and complying with Nestle GLP requirements for laboratory operation.
Create and maintain industry expertise on Analytical Chemistry through external networking and affiliations. Act as the M&D PTC liaison through the internal Nestle chemistry network.

MS or PhD (preferred) in Analytical Chemistry or Food Chemistry;
Minimum 5-10 years (depending on degree) work experience in Chemistry laboratory;
Extensive hands-on experience performing various chemical analysis with specialties on chromatography (HPLC & GCMS);
Broad understanding on analytical instrumentation;
Competent in analytical method development and validation;
