Gerber Products Company dba Nestlé Infant Nutrition is seeking a Industrial Services Manager - Auxiliary Equipment at our Fremont, MI facility. This position will be responsible for maintaining the plant powerhouse operations which includes steam, water, refrigeration, air, water and electrical in a fully operational state which supports our production requirements while at the same time managing cost and utility usage.
a. Prepare, administer and implement long range capital projects for the utilities operation.
b. Has immediate responsibility for the Safety & Environmental activities performed by supervisors and employees.
c. Provides direction to Powerhouse Engineers, HVAC, and Powerhouse Mechanic regarding troubleshooting, processes, and procedures on equipment operations, and improvements.
d. Manage Plant facilities operations as it relates to generation and supply of steam, RO water, soft water, refrigeration, compressed air, water and electric to ensure reliable services to Plant operations and in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
e. Monitor utility consumption and execute best course of action in areas of equipment improvements, and engineering requirements to maintain efficient and least cost utility consumption throughout the Fremont Plant.
f. Utilizing NCE / TPM processes analyzes available data, plan, design and implement best value options that result in low cost/high efficiency renovation/innovation improvements to equipment and/or processes to identify cost-savings opportunities that improve efficient use of resources. This includes modification to equipment through effective internal resource use or coordination of external resources.
a. Assures that Safety activities are communicated & accomplished as outlined in the plant’s safety program.
b. Assures that activities performed having an environmental impact are communicated and accomplished as outlined in the plant’s environmental program.
c. Assures that the supervisor involved properly investigates all injuries, incidents and accidents as they relate to safety or the environment.
d. Consult with the plant Safety/Environmental Management Representative as necessary to fulfill program requirements.
e. Review all accident and incident investigations with the objective of taking action to eliminate future occurrences.
f. Manages compliance of Engineering Functional Compliance Audit, EFCA, boiler audits, ammonia audits, and other audit both internally as well as externally.
BS/BA degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
3-5 years experience with the following:
Auto-Cad and blueprint reading
Management experience in the following:
ASME boiler code and state laws
Ammonia systems operation
Maintenance in food processing or pharmaceutical industry.
Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM )
Experience with PSM/RMP programs
