Position Summary:

The goal of the position is toprovide the appropriate sensory and consumer expertise and guidance to innovation and renovation projects, to technical and research programs, that ensures foundational knowledge building, and decision making that supports R&D and the business achieving their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

-Facilitate cross-functional project teams, with R&D, Application Groups, Production Facilities, Markets/Business and external collaborators providing support and guidance on use and choice of sensory science and consumer methodologies (quantitative and qualitative), procedures and processes.

- Define research question and issue, translate consumer needs into appropriate sensory and consumer tests to answer project objectives, and communicate outcomes and potential implications.

-Plan, design, implement, analyze, interpret, review, report and communicate sensory and consumer testing findings to guide cross-functional team decisions and build knowledge of our opportunities, challenges, markets, consumers, products, and processes."

-Manage and nurture relationships with external service providers, such that they perform and serve as an extension of the CSI function.

-Ensure high quality results by monitoring the maintenance, recruitment, participation, execution and communication of consumer studies conducted by our vendors on our behalf reinforcing collaboration, excellence and transparent execution, and autonomy.

-Responsible to follow and uphold all Food Safety, Food Quality, Occupational Safety, Health and Environment policies and procedures as pertains to role.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

BS or MS or PhD in food science, sensory evaluation, sensory science, psychology, consumer science, marketing research, nutrition, or statistics required. 

 BS/BA in one of the above stated academic disciplines +5 years of demonstrated work experience within sensory and/or consumer testing, in a consumer packaged goods or related business 

Or 2 years of demonstrated work experience with Master's level degree,

Or a Ph.D. from an accredited sensory and/or market research learning institution,

Or a post-doctorate candidate with limited years of hands on academic or work experience.  

Candidates must have sound knowledge and experience of a wide range of sensory analysis techniques and their application,

Present and or prior work experience in marketing research with exposure to a variety of consumer testing techniques. 

Knowledge and/or research experience in sensory perception is a plus. 

 

 

 

Specific Skills:

• Demonstrated track record of scientific competency

• In-depth knowledge of Sensory Science or closely related field (e.g., human physiology, statistics/analytics, psychology, consumer science)
• Effective communication of technical information (written, oral)
• Effectiveness in teamwork, collaboration and cooperation

Preferred Skills

Creative thinking, adaptable to an R&D scientific environment, very good team spirit, flexibility, positive mindset and curiosity, autonomy and rigor. 

                       

In addition to the above, you have to demonstrate your ability to work constructively with everyone who contributes; to be open to fresh ideas and leverage diversity of backgrounds and experiences; and to act with integrity. You also have to demonstrate your ability to focus on what matters and make choices; to deliver against clear, actionable and measurable priorities, and to work with a lean and nimble mindset. Finally, you will have to demonstrate your ability to challenge the status quo and to help us change the way people view nutritional therapies in health management, with a can-do attitude and passion.
