Position Summary:

·The Science & Technology (S&T) leader will be responsible for developing and leveraging scientific & technological knowledge to drive innovation within the Consumer Care and Medical Nutrition business with a focus on food related matrixes. The role will be responsible for the development of the S&T roadmaps, and has the functional lead to ensure their execution. The selected individual will leverage the knowledge and discoveries from internal resources (NRC, NIHS, Expert Networks, Expert Communities, Task Forces) as also external collaborations and ensures alignment of relevant S&T Roadmaps incl. cross-category ones.

Responsibilities

·The following rounds out the responsibilities and key areas to be accomplished by selected individual within the NPTC for NHSc:

oDrive innovation through the development of S&T roadmaps in alignment with business needs and ensure their execution directly and through functional leadership leading to and supporting integrated I&R pipelines

oBuild and leverage knowledge and discoveries from Nestlé wide internal resources (e.g. NRC, NIHS, expert networks) and from collaboration with external partners in academia and industry and drive the translation into relevant S&T Building Blocks and business opportunities

oEnsure a lean and agile internal organization and a sound external network to achieve efficiency and speed in utilizing and execution of discoveries

oLead S&T resources dedicated to the NPTC and build and develop business specific competencies to ensure scientific & technological excellence

oScout and develop scientific talents to populate the expert career path and ensure succession of key scientist positions to sustain scientific leadership

oSupport product and technology development through scientific & technological expertise to achieve manufacturing excellence

oOrganize S&T Days, ensuring content and agenda drive relevant output

oProvide strategic scientific guidance through goal alignment to NPTC science groups

oEnsure adequate protection of generated knowledge

oLiaise with the S&T Leads of other businesses to ensure alignment on the allocation of shared resources; ensure resources are dedicated to businesses wherever this is possible

Qualifications

Experience and Education Requirements:

7-10 years of demonstrated Science and Technology experience within Food Science, Bio Technology, and Pharmaceutical Industries

PhD in life or food science/technology related topic

Leading and managing multiple diverse scientific & technical projects in highly matrixed technical international environment

Demonstrated ability to lead & influence a diverse scientific team

Quality communication skills verbal and written

Proven people managing skills within a global environment

Demonstrated Internal and External results oriented networking skills

In addition to the above, you have to demonstrate your ability to work constructively with everyone who contributes; to be open to fresh ideas and leverage diversity of backgrounds and experiences; and to act with integrity. You also have to demonstrate your ability to focus on what matters and make choices; to deliver against clear, actionable and measurable priorities, and to work with a lean and nimble mindset. Finally, you will have to demonstrate your ability to challenge the status quo and to help us change the way people view nutritional therapies in health management, with a can-do attitude and passion.
