Production Team Leader (2nd Shift)

Since 1987, our Nestlé Purina Zanesville, Ohio factory has been located along the banks of the Muskingum River in scenic east-central Ohio halfway between Columbus and Wheeling, West Virginia. Over the years, we have innovated and renovated our portfolio of products, processes and technical equipment. We produce 21,800 tons annually- all produced, packaged and shipped with the utmost quality and nutrition.  Our team in Zanesville is proud to boast that this is the only Nestlé Purina location that produces every Moist & Meaty and Alpo® Meal Helper product for all of the United States and Canada. 

Your role in the bigger picture is to lead and facilitate the packing team to achieve all goals related to safety, quality, performance and cost, while maintaining positive employee relations and morale. As the Production Team Leader on the 2nd shift, you will ensure safe behaviors by all associates while maintaining excellences in quality and food safety. This vital role will lead their team in continuous improvement through our Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) tools to maximize asset intensity and minimize costs.

  • Insure a safe working environment  
  • Maintain sanitation levels to meet or exceed company and government standards  
  • Maintain company product quality standards 
  • Coordinate daily shift activities to meet key objectives  
  • Develop hourly personnel to maximize their potential to meet current and future objectives  
  • Coordinate with other Team Leaders within the department to assure consistency in execution of all policies and guidelines   
  • Facilitate team meeting and encourage an open door policy as a means of resolving issues
  • Handles some administrative duties
Perform all other duties as assigned




High school diploma or GED

1+ years’ experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment in related field
2+ years’ experience supervising and leading people in related field
