Position Summary:

The primary mission of the role is to ensure constant compliance of all local, state, federal regulatory requirements (OSHA & NJ regulations). In addition to Nestlé Safety, Health and Environmental Program and Loss Control objectives. Will be the champion of safety in the workplace through team members, activities, and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

*Develop & implement specific tools & initiatives to increase awareness, engagement and capability in SH&E and to achieve SH&E objectives. Monitor, analyze and communicate SH&E performance to drive continuous improvement. Share learnings and good practices with other parts of Nestlé, actively contribute to corporate initiatives.

*Coordinate efforts at each location to ensure compliance to Nestle policies and procedures, local and state regulations. Establish and work with teams to achieve site specific goals.

*Develop, coordinate and implement a SH&E training program for all employees, contractors and vendors (while performing work on site) to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, local regulations and internal Nestlé standards. Ensures that safety training materials and programs are available to all departments. Conduct new employee orientation.

* Develop and update all required written standards, policies and procedures in accordance within Nestle, Local, State, and Federal standards.

* Coordinate all on-site health and other safety surveys including but not limited to noise and air monitoring, ergonomic surveys, insurance reviews and other audits/assessments.

*Coordinate safety investigations with department team members to include hazard assessments, recommendations for improvements and communication of resolution to all affected employees.

* Responsible for SH&E in Nestle Health Science US operations including Bridgewater NJ, and Buffalo Grove IL, Eden Prairie MN as well as the national sales team.

* Evaluate and give recommendations on ergonomics and safety for new equipment/line layout and design

*Coordinate resources and contribute to the ISO 14000 & 18000 and NQMS certification process.

* Ensure building security and compliance to standards.

*In consultation with Nestlé requirements, conduct internal safety audits and inspections to ascertain compliance with applicable legal requirements, Nestlé Safety Policies, and the facility’s Safety/Environmental Compliance Program and appropriately document such events and efforts undertaken to address identified concerns.

* Lead Safety Committee Meetings and participate to Leadership Teams meetings

*Collect and report OSHA recordable/lost time incidences, and required facility data into the SHE-PM tool on timely basis.

*Conduct incident & accident investigation(s) and reporting of any reportable environmental release/contamination in accordance with federal, state, and Nestlé requirements.

*Prepare written Emergency Response Plan and execute necessary procedures to validate.

*Assure proper retention of all applicable governmental records required of the facility, with regard to permits, air, water, etc., to meet all federal, state, and Nestlé record retention requirements.

* Establish and maintain a "Point of Contact" position with Nestlé management for all safety, health and environmental issues.

*File all required permits, forms and documentation as required by the governing Local, State/Federal agencies within the required timeframe.


Requirements & Education

Required: BA/BS Degree.
Preferred: Safety, Health, and Environmental Studies


* Minimum of 5 years of SH&E factory experience required.
 *Minimum of 3 years of leadership/people-management experience required.
 *Demonstrated strong PC and management skills
 *Demonstrated experience in cultural change
 *Working knowledge in OSHA/
ISO/OHSAS certifications and Worker’s Compensation Law and EPA

 *Travel 10-20%
