Gerber Products Company dba Nestlé Infant Nutrition is seeking a Process Engineer at our Eau Claire, WI facility. This role supports an off shift position. The preferable start time is between 1 and 2 pm.
Provide Process, project engineering support for various operations lines (primarily aseptic packaging and processing and CIP), plant and capital projects. Responsible for production line trouble shooting, project management - administer budgeting, design, installation, qualification and commissioning, knowledge transfer to maintenance team of new/modified process systems. Assist Production and Quality Departments to resolve non-maintenance related production and quality issues. Conduct training, maintain and update documentation relating to job. Assist Engineering Project Manager as needed to support projects and other initiatives as assigned.
Provide process-engineering support for all plant processes. Develop, learn and pass on knowledge in the aseptic and other processing areas. Assist Technical, maintenance and Production Managers in resolving non-maintenance related quality issues and/or product losses. Conduct follow-up investigations, root cause analysis; recommend equipment modifications, procedural changes, etc., necessary to prevent recurrence. Coordinate implementation of corrective action(s).
Provide project management and technical engineering support for factory operations and minor projects involving modification and/or installation of new processing systems. Administer design, preparation of cost and timing schedules, installation, qualification and commissioning before turnover to Production. Assist to train, knowledge transfer - Team Leaders, Operators, and Maintenance personnel. Prepare and issue documentation as required.
Provide engineering assistance for day-to-day plant activities and projects. Work with Production and Quality Assurance to establish and assure the quality level of the finished product complies with FDA regulations and specified quality standards.
Establish and maintain a strong working relationship providing for effective information flow between plant and external resources.
Perform other duties as assigned.

• Follow the plant safety rules; report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately
• Maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs.
• Understand the environmental aspects of the position and take action to reduce these environmental impacts by conserving paper, electricity, water etc. Will also recycle all appropriate materials (paper, plastic, food, etc.)
• Follow factory food safety, quality objectives & targets
• Follow Nestle Good Manufacturing Practices; report food safety and quality issues immediately.
• Maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to Nestle Quality Management System on all related procedures and programs.
• Understand the food safety and quality aspects of the position as indicated on QMS, OJT's and SOP's that apply.
Throughout all of these responsibilities, maintains a focus on continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
EDUCATION: Required: BS Degree in Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering
Required: 2+ years experience in fluid products and project engineering in a manufacturing plant environment.
Preferred: Experience food production and aseptic experience.
Knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD and MS project preferred.
PLC programming experience desirable.
Knowledge of applicable Food Laws.
Strong project management skills
Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work well with others.
