Our factory in Crete, NE is one of the largest wet pet food manufacturing facilities in the U.S. as a mass producer of over one thousand tons of pet food per day, including brands like Alpo®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, Pro Plan®, Friskies® and Nestlé Purina Veterinary Diets® brands. With the city of Lincoln just 25 miles from the factory, many of our associates find convenience in larger-city living in Lincoln and embrace the short commute to the quainter city of Crete.
Before the rubber meets the road, it meets our Transportation Associates, the dependable associates who oversee the ins and outs of our shipping and receiving. It’s a major part of doing business at Nestlé Purina. With 21 U.S. manufacturing facilities across the U.S., 99% of our production is based here, and leading the nation in sales, volume, and market share. As the Transportation Associate, you are responsible for directing all order processing associated with specific customers while maintaining cost and service objectives. From factory to store, and every stop between, shipping and receiving, which we call Transportation, is an essential part of the process.
Utilize SAP to process customer orders and screen for product availability
Secure carriers on delivered loads and schedule pickup appointments for customer pickup loads
Monitor carrier no-shows, on-time deliveries and pickups
Notify appropriate groups of any product supply issues
Manage trailer availability and report trailer damage to carriers
Prioritize loading based on delivery appointments and on-time pickups
Work with ORM and Operations Planning group to resolve issues to maintain customer satisfaction and on time delivery
Manage and process customer returns
Assist Transportation Manager with on time reporting, and other reporting functions as assigned
Able to travel up to 10%
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):
High school diploma or GED equivalent
1+ years’ customer service experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, transportation or related environment. Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft excel and/or similar systems.
Must be flexible to work variable shifts.
