Accountable for the accuracy and reliability of the Demand Plan for Nestle Health Science, Consumer Care Channel in the US.
This includes development and implementation of performance standards and operating procedures that affect the Demand Planning function; interpretation of company-wide Standards, Supply Chain Reference Documents; deployment of related demand planning tools/reports; and guidance on demand forecast for the business unit.
Leads the Sales and Operations Planning Process (MBP – Monthly Business Planning), ensuring robust business processes and coaching the Demand Planner and other key cross-functional participants in Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations.
MANAGES THE DEMAND PLAN / FORECAST
Provides guidance on demand plan for the Nestle Health Science Consumer Care, ensuring alignment with business priorities and initiatives
Establishes Demand Planning key performance metrics and define targets.
Challenges ways of working and manages process changes to improve Demand Plan Accuracy, drive out systematic forecast bias and deliver other tangible benefits (e.g. time saving, efficiencies)
Promote the use of all Demand Planning system functionalities to enable an exception based management approach.
Manages relationships and effective flow of information between the Demand Planning function and the Statistical Forecasting Team, in improving the quality of the Demand Plan as well as efficiency and effectiveness of related processes.
Quantify new product launches utilizing historical data for both internal and competitive launches, planned marketing support and key account sales plans.
PROMOTE CONSENSUS THROUGH ALIGNGMENT (MBP / S&OP)
Defines ways of working and best practices for the cross-functional planning activities and ensures commitment from all functions to shape an efficient and effective process.
Partners with the business to identify gaps between the demand plan and financial/sales targets, and validate all corrective measures/gap closers.
Directs and makes recommendations on the Consensus Demand Planning for the business unit, challenge forecast assumptions and defends the appropriate changes to the CDP.
Engages with other functions to enable the use of external data into the Demand Planning process (e.g. Point of Sale, Consumption, Customer Inventory, etc.)
Actively participates in the Market Business Strategy (MBS), Integrated Commercial Planning (ICP), Monthly Business Planning (MBP) and Dynamic Forecast (DF) processes.
Facilitate consensus meetings with Supply Planning, Sales, Marketing, Finance & Operations to ensure forecasting objectives are achieved
Actively participates in Demand Planning functional meetings with other business units to share experiences and contribute in defining company-wide best practices.
Cascades knowledge of Demand Planning Best Practices and tools, including the Monthly Business Planning (MBP), to other Demand planners, new hires and cross-functional teams.
Experience and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
5-7 years of experience in Forecasting/Planning, Supply Chain or Sales/Sales Operations roles or related experience required
Leadership role in one of the functions: Demand & Supply Planning; Supply Chain Development; Procurement; Physical Logistics; Costumer Service; Sales & Marketing; Finance.
Proven ability to lead, motivate and influence others.
Demand Planning and statistical forecasting techniques.
Experience of implementing processes and systems to improve organization and working methods.
Strong analytical aptitude with a proven ability to analyze/interpret data and build quantitative models of business problems.
Excellent oral and written skills, organizational and time-management abilities, effective inter-personal skills, and the ability to work with personnel at all organizational levels.
Flexibility and adaptability to the demands and requirements of a fast-paced environment with multiple demands and priorities.
Creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
