Inspire and empower excellence in safety, health and environmental sustainability across the Nestle Development Center (NDC). Provide leadership across all parts of the facility to enable staff to realize their SHE goals and build safety behaviors. Develop, coordinate and execute Safety, Health & Environment programs ensuring practical, cost-effective measures are in place and that a Safety Culture exists to ensure employees are accountable/responsible for health, safety, and environmental conditions and practices. Ensures daily employee compliance with government laws/regulations and Nestlé policy.
Analyze SH&E conditions and recommends changes to continuously improve facility SH&E performance.
Develop and implement processes and procedures (SOP's) to ensure facility compliance with company and regulatory agency policies; including federal, state, and local legislation plus regulations pertaining to worker safety and preservation of the environment.
Administer training programs for safety incident prevention, protection, and SH&E management systems.
Provide guidance and oversight of all incident investigations. Lead, coordinate and participate in the investigations as needed.
Through active participation, lead the facility to adopt a ZERO TOLERANCE MENTALITY toward SH&E losses and drive culture within the framework of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and other internal / external audit.
Job Qualifications (Minimum Education, Experience, and Knowledge)
B.S. degree in a safety, environmental or similar discipline.
Five years’ experience in an Industrial operation.
Experience with Safety, Health and Environmental program development, implementation and training.
Experience with OSHA and EPA regulations and application in operations.
Knowledge of Safe modes of Operation & Maintenance and Knowledge of Hazardous and Infectious Waste Management / disposal.
Experience with DOT Hazardous Shipping Regulations.
Demonstrated proficiency in use of Microsoft Office.
Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
Strong decision-making and communication skills (internal and external stakeholders).
Demonstrated ability to evaluate information and form appropriate recommendations.
Demonstrated willingness to work within a team environment
Translate policies and standards into practical training modules, SOP and implementable action plans
Coach individuals and team in different environments.
