The Project Engineer provides professional subject matter support in facilities engineering (i.e. Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering), for the support and continuous improvement of facility maintenance systems and infrastructure within a globally leading food quality assurance testing laboratory. The position mission includes the identification and execution of facility maintenance and fixed-asset continuous improvement projects, compliance and regulatory system management (i.e. ISO 9001, 13.100), and industrial hygiene & safety leadership in the facilities engineering context.
With priority to a safety leadership mindset, identify and implement facility infrastructure and fixed asset continuous improvement actions/projects, toward continuous improvement of Nestlé facility engineering policy, ISO standard, and project management methodology.
Partner with and guide relevant project teams (i.e. other project leaders, technicians, contractors) through regular collaborative and supervisory efforts.
Assess, manage, and control project costs utilizing execution planning and systems. Assist with leading the preventative maintenance process, defining processes, driving improvements, identifying and achieving KPI targets.
Lead continuous improvement of facility engineering and maintenance safety practice through proactive assessment, understanding, and mitigation of safety hazards.
Lead effective project management communication between team members and related site internal and external partners toward all project aims (i.e. Weekly/monthly project operation review leadership, assignment management, status check/monitoring activity).
Provide Value Engineering Analysis (VEA) studies as needed.
Manage facility maintenance activity scope and costs by ensuring external engineering services, contractors, suppliers understand mission, performance expectations, and landmarks are defined.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology (Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering) preferred; or equivalent combination of other education and/or experience.
Five or more years of experience in industrial maintenance/engineering with at least two or more years of experience in a leadership capacity preferred
Prior experience in a beverage, food or other clean manufacturing environment with familiarity with quality, GMP and hygiene regulations preferred.
Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs with a grasp of financial factors in maintenance.
Continuous improvement or process improvement experience. Green belt or black belt certification or prior Lean/TPM experience preferred.
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Suite applications; business management software (SAP preferred) needed.
Understanding of production processes & technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
High influence and presentation skill with the ability to facilitate change. Ability to grow relationships with business partners and to lead, coach, and develop employees.
Time management, delegation and organization skills with strong problem-solving ability.
Schedule flexibility with the ability to provide on call coverage.
