Position Summary Responsible for the development and management of sourcing strategies for local categories and subcategories including Innovative Packaging, Recycled Resin, and Bottle Deposit programs. Ensures Execution (self and team) of Nestlé’s 7-Step Strategic Sourcing to enable value generation to Nestlé business units. Builds and maintains strong working relationships with Business Partners and upstream suppliers as the “one face” to the supply base. Tracks and manages ensure supply and sustainable sourcing compliance initiatives while focusing on identification and implementation of value-add projects in collaboration with internal customers, stakeholders, and suppliers. Leads contract negotiations and interact actions with material recovery facilities (MRF), processors, converters, and external stakeholders, in collaboration with TAG, Nestrade, and Sustainability teams, to deliver on 2025 (and beyond) strategies and commitments. Oversees scrap management / bottle deposit programs for international premium waters business, as well as procurement of local and recycled packaging materials under a closed loop / circular economy model, in support of North American operations. Leadership, coaching, communication, strategy development and execution, and compliance management are critical to role.Responsibilities: • Lead Sustainability and Sustainable Sourcing strategy for assigned material categories including innovative Packaging, Recycled Resin, and Bottle Deposit programs. Including regular communications around sustainable sourcing and activities between internal partners and external organizations. • Lead contract negotiations and interact actions with material recovery facilities (MRF), processors, converters, and external stakeholders, in collaboration with TAG, Nestrade, and Sustainability teams, to deliver on 2025 (and beyond) strategies and commitments. • Lead interaction with partners and stakeholders on creating innovative models to secure new materials, such as Closed Loop Leadership Fund • Works closely with the Senior Manager, Sustainable Sourcing to ensure alignment amongst Nestle packaging commitments, credence attributes, and Nestle in the Market Sustainability and Sustainable Sourcing strategies. • Nestlé 7-Step Strategic Sourcing Process (7SSS) Implementation (Self and Team) o Confirm objectives, issues, market analysis, volume growth, etc. and represent them to Local and Above-Market Category Teams to shape planning and execution. o Develop and manage procurement strategies to secure innovative rPlastic, fiber, bio-based materials, etc. materials to meet business goals and objectives. o Establishes and ensures the achievement of the strategic directions, objectives and critical metrics for the category. o Coordinate with Business Partner (BP) network, Sustainability Teams, and cross functional teams to develop, align, and secure category sourcing strategy approvals. o Engages with Nestlé Global Business Service to execute sourcing events by providing a sourcing package (bid sheets, bid lots, category legal contract template rules, etc.) and management of event specific inquiries and final award decisions. o Work with Quality/Technical/Regulatory/Procurement teams to on-board new sources of supply that can meet Nestle rigorous food safety standards and requirements for recycled materials. o Lead change management activities that supports the sourcing strategy and facilitate execution to drive compliance and commitments on sustainability. • Ensures supply through continued development of incumbent suppliers, identification of new supply options, and implementation of business continuity plans on an ongoing basis. • Own the procurement relationship with factories, and serve as first point of contact for suppliers and business partners on any potential supply issues, that are escalated as necessary. • Provide Budget, and monthly Price Forecasting for Procurement Finance and Business Units for rPlastics and other innovative packaging material categories (e.g., fiber, bio-based), according to the financial cycles established including commentary on evolution of category and price drivers. • Identifies, coordinates, and tracks initiatives to provide additional value for Working Capital (Cash Flow) and Value Realization (cost savings and avoidance). • Engage suppliers to conduct Responsible Sourcing Audits based on established guidelines and to monitor/improve supplier performance vis SRM (strategic relationship management) programs that can drive value to the business units. • Management of Category Mgt Specialists. o Talent and Performance Management System Development (Personal Development Guide, Performance Evaluation, Engagement Check-in and 360 Assessments). o Everyday coaching – Ongoing mentoring to staff. o Establish meaningful key team objectives in support of Nestlé cascading measures. • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, MBA preferred • 7-10 years experience with Recycled Materials Procurement or Supply, Strategic purchasing, and/or Sustainable Sourcing/Sustainability experience. • Knowledge of recycling infrastructure, rPlastics and innovative packaging sourcing a plus • Demonstrated successful management of team of Procurement professionals and materials management/operational buying capability. • Candidate must be a demonstrated quick study, proven ability to manage change, ability to work across boundaries and boarders, strong decision making. • Excellent communicator, demonstrated skills in collaboration and team leadership • Proven ability to gather business material and service requirements, translate into plans, and manage projects to completion. • Capable of navigating through ambiguous situations and managing internal stakeholders as well as external vendor relationships. • Required proficiency in Microsoft Suite products, including but not limited to, Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.
