Founded in 2011, Nestlé Health Science (NHSc) is a globally recognized leader in the field of nutritional science, committed to redefining the management of health. We offer an extensive portfolio of science-based consumer health, medical nutrition, pharmaceutical and supplement brands. NHSc is headquartered in Switzerland with more than 5,000 employees around the world and a presence in 66 countries.
Our business is dedicated to medical nutrition (products that are available only through healthcare providers), consumer care, or over-the-counter, nutritional solutions, and pharmaceutical solutions. We cover the spectrum from newborns to the most senior citizens, from individuals looking to enhance their fitness performance to those that need extra special nutritional care due to illnesses, from individuals with food allergies to those who want to fill the gaps in their vitamin intake.
In 2020 we acquired Aimmune Therapeutics, and with it created the third pillar of our business, one dedicated to pharmaceutical solutions to challenges caused by food allergies and food digestion & absorption. Food allergies are not only stressful for the patients and families, they can be life-threatening. We offer the only FDA-approved treatment for peanut allergies and are exploring other food allergy treatments. In the area of food digestion and absorption, we offer treatments for Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI), a disorder where the pancreas does not make enough enzymes due to cystic fibrosis or other conditions. Our deep experience in medical nutrition, vast research and development resources, and solid network of healthcare professionals allows us to innovate in these areas and offer proven solutions to patients.
