Nestlé Health Science in Eau Claire, WI manufactures health care nutrition products. There is an opening for an IT Specialist to join our team! Our ideal candidate should be energized, professional, and collaborative with solid leadership and project management skills. We are looking for a candidate who is up to all of the challenges that a 24/7 food manufacturing facility has to offer!
Responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining computer workstations, servers, networks, and other IT related systems. Performs software and hardware installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels.Ensures system data integrity and long-term operation by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate procedures, testing, and documentation.Coordinates and manages projects to implement required systems as needed.
The term “IT systems” used below includes all PCs, workstations, servers, network, personal devices, printers, and related peripheral computer equipment along with associated software and applications located in the local area manufacturing facilities. Some systems may be outside the scope of responsibilities such as vendor supplied systems like QA lab instruments.
Installs and configures systems according to Corporate and local IT policies and documentation.
Troubleshoots and repairs, by vendor or otherwise, all problems that are beyond the skill or responsibility of the end user.
Promotes and assists users in using designated corporate help systems.
Investigates, quotes, purchases, and tracks purchases required for jobs.
Trains personnel on new installations, changes in policy, and whenever appropriate.
Assists employees in rising to a level of knowledge where they can support themselves.
Serves as technical expert and contribute to task forces and special projects within departments/divisions.
Safeguard Hardware, Software, and Data:
Maintains license compliance for IT systems.
Establishes and implements policies and procedures necessary to ensure the proper use and control of IT systems.
Secures all programs, files, manuals, and documentation in a manner consistent with the disaster recovery policy.
Administers small to medium size projects by coordinating resources, tracking progress, and fulfilling deadlines.
Investigates new technologies for potential benefits to the facility.
Compares installation performance against expected parameters for continuous improvement.
Identifies opportunities and recommend solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness.
Throughout all responsibilities, maintains a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
Associate degree in, or related to, computer science or IT project management and 5+ years of related experience
Ability to work flexible hours (as required for projects & on-call support, but majority is M-F first shift)
Minimal travel (typically 0-5% for personal development training and project related site/vendor visits)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field.
Deep expertise in at least one of the following areas: IT project management, IT hardware repair, network maintenance or management, IT security, SQL or other programming (with willingness to grow/develop in the areas lacking expertise)
5+ years computer experience relating to Microsoft Infrastructure, network design, active directory, field support of computer systems, and/or Engineering. IT project management experience in a manufacturing environment and large company environment.
Ability to work flexible hours
Strong ability to communicate in verbal and written form from end users to upper management, one-on-one and group settings.
