The NWUS team is seeking a Director, Consumer Insights, Media & Analytics, to support our Marketing Function. The role is based in Stamford, CT, and will report into the Chief Marketing Officer.
The Director, Insights Media Engagement will be responsible for leading 3 areas of expertise:
Consumer Insights & Analytics – Lead the insights team responsible for gathering and applying consumer, shopper, and market insights and analytics
Media & Search – Lead the media team responsible for the development and execution of integrated media plans across the portfolio
Consumer Engagement – Lead the consumer engagement team responsible for listening to and responding to consumer feedback across touchpoints, and sharing back with the brand teams
The Director sits on the Marketing Leadership Team and reports to the CMO
The role will have 6-8 direct reports in the areas of:
Consumer Insights & Analytics
Media & Search
Key responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Integrate insights and analytics across the portfolio to influence marketing strategy
Provide consumer-driven recommendations to advance growth opportunities from strategy to commercialization
Build consumer knowledge and synthesize consumer understanding by delivering high impact, insights-based inputs and recommendations that drive brand, consumer, and business strategies to win in the marketplace
Continuously develop and apply insights, analytics, and media tools that will propel our consumer understanding and brands forward
Build consumer-first capabilities across the broader marketing organization, and coach others to instill best practices
Drive culture and mindset to uncover insights rooted in deep human motivations, leveraging insights to answer business and brand questions in an integrated manner in an impactful way
Provide relevant insights and research expertise to support all brands by creating engaging brand experiences, winning with shoppers, innovating boldly, and delighting with product and packaging
Work with Consumer Insights team to develop deep understanding of target consumers, develop consumer portraits, and craft core insights in partnership with brand builders
Work with team to leverage and apply the appropriate quant or qual research tools or creatively invent new learning approaches to guide strategy and build brands
Leverage media measurement learnings to optimize investments across the portfolio
Leverage media to deliver against the marketing objectives set forth by each brand
Oversee the media planning process in collaboration with media agencies
Deepen relationships with media agencies and key strategic media partners (e.g. Facebook, Google, etc.) and set ambitious portfolio learning agenda objectives
Optimize broader media agency services and knowledge sharing in collaboration with other functions across the business (e.g. Corporate Affairs, Ready Refresh, Sales)
Oversee the consumer engagement contact center and ensure retail consumer satisfaction
Oversee best practices for consumer response across all contact channels, including social media and e-commerce reviews
Leverage consumer engagement feedback in holistic brand and innovation insights to drive strategy
10+ years’ experience in Consumer Insights/Media at a CPG Company
Experience in brand strategy, portfolio strategy, advertising development, innovation, renovation, marketing analytics, and media measurement
Actively seeks knowledge of media trends, best practices and metrics
Successful in leading and motivating dynamic teams
External focus and organizational leadership
Ability to work cross functionally and effectively manage stakeholders
Strong organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent influencing skills
