Position Summary: The position is required to lead the Pilot Plant Logistics team, coordinate Pilot Plant schedule, ensure appropriate raw material ordering & receiving, inventories of raw materials, packaging and supplies.
LEADERSHIP: • Lead the Pilot Plant Logistics team (1 internal Sr Technician Logistics and outsourced technicians) in order to achieve the agreed team objectives within agreed timelines and in alignment with the OMP • Mentor, coach, provide guidance and support to the team • Motivate & engage the group • Train and develop the team members with appropriate 1:1’s and check-ins and provide succession planning • Prepare and conduct timely performance reviews that are based on SMART objectives
SCHEDULING/PLANNING: • Coordinate with the Pilot Plant Manager the Pilot Plant scheduling, including documentation, cleaning schedule, maintenance downtime, and meetings. • Work with Product Development Scientists to schedule Pilot Plant trials. • Ensure the Pilot Plant resources are available to execute schedule.
ORDERING/RECEIVING • Work with the Logistics Technicians to ensure appropriate stocks • Ensure appropriate raw material ordering and receiving • Coordinate specialized shipping, such as for international plant trials • Responsible to follow and uphold all Food Safety, Food Quality, Occupational Safety, Health and Environment policies and procedures in the area of responsibility
Key Relationships (Internal) • Pilot Plant Manager, Pilot Plant & Logistics technicians, • All NPTC Bridgewater departments: Product Development Scientists, Sensory Scientists, Facilities, TCU, SH&E, Quality.
Key Relationships (External) • Raw material vendors, Shipping/transportation providers, Import/export vendors including Customs Agencies, outside warehouse provider(s)
Experience and Education Requirements: • B.S. degree in Logistics, or similar; or, equivalent experience • Experience in manufacturing environment • 3+ years of managing experience in a warehouse or food manufacturing environment • Skilled in use of Microsoft Office tools • Basic knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) • Forklift certification preferred
