The Solution Architect (IoT) is accountable for the development of architecture standards, technology domain strategies, roadmaps and blueprints for all Nestlé Purina Internet of Things (IoT) developments. Participating in architecture assessments & reviews either as reviewing architect or as a domain expert in the team for Nestlé Purina and its 3rd party development agencies. Support solution development efforts for Nestlé Purina’s in-house teams and 3rd parties, including key communication and facilitation with Nestlé’s IoT Products (IoT Hub, Canary Platform) regulatory and compliance teams. You’ll collect business requirements raised by markets and functions and produce functional requirements to be added to IoT product roadmap. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation (including user guidelines). Finally, you’ll be researching new technologies to optimize the current IoT solutions and to make them sustainable for the future, while applying in-house standards and market best practices.
Strategy development – under the supervision and guidance of the primary Community of Practice Lead and Head of Enterprise Architect, Head of Stream/Head of Platforms based in Switzerland.
Manages and develops the architecture for a broader scope of products / platforms, working closely with application architects that manage and design architecture for a single product or product group.
Delivers the architectural design for products or product groups and inputs to the roadmap by utilizing knowledge of defined reference architectures, technology trends, and implementation experience in order to translate a business need into a solution blueprint that represents an end-to-end technical solution.
Facilitates the evaluation and selection of software product standards and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations.
Defines the guidelines, standards and solution patterns to ensure product-based decisions are aligned with the enterprise’s future-state architecture vision.
Delivers the integration of solutions within the product / product group / platform and implements the integration strategy for cross-product group purposes.
Leads the implementation and integration of technical architecture across a product group based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities and business requirements.
Identifies the organizational impact (for example, on skills, processes, structures or culture) and financial impact of the solution architecture.
Monitors the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements.
Defines and documents the guidelines, standards and solution architecture to ensure product-based decisions are aligned with the enterprise’s future-state architecture vision.
Designs and directs the governance activities associated with ensuring product architecture assurance and compliance.
Engage with Tech Leads, BAs, Product Managers and EA within (and across) the product groups to ensure alignment with the overall enterprise architecture.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Analysis or a related study.
3+ years of experience in the development of enterprise scale IoT solutions.
3+ years of experience in designing and deploying enterprise-wide scalable operations on Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Excellent communication skills with ability to interact with different stakeholders, both verbally and written.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Analysis or a related study.
Expertise architecting IoT solutions relating to sensors, cloud connectivity, AI (Artificial Intelligence), Machine Learning, and physical device communication.
Experience in one or more specific IoT / embedded / M2M (Machine to Machine) industry (i.e. home automation, business automation, health, asset tracking, smart utilities, etc.)
2+ years of experience with Infrastructure as a service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions development.
Systems integration with 3rd party platforms (Salesforce, SAP)
Understanding of agile methods and processes, and capability of supporting agile project teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt.
Experience with software design & implementation including CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Deliver) and Testing/QA
Experience working in a global environment and with virtual teams.
