The Sr. Data Engineer falls under Nestlé’s Analytical Service Lines (ASL) business, which is our in house analytics consulting group. This team performs analytical services not only on behalf of all operating companies across North America, but also our global markets. The ASL leverages current and future Nestle IT platforms, tools, and solutions with flexibility to incorporate and use both internal and external data. The goal is to focus on areas with strong demand, which will be shared repeatedly with high quality, but are significantly more cost effective
As a Sr. Data Engineer within our ASL team, you will be responsible for comprehending business stakeholders’ needs, translating those needs to develop end-to-end analytical services, communicating about the services and their value back to the business, and ensuring user satisfaction. Partner with Market functions, Globally and Regionally Managed Businesses, and Above Market entities to build and deliver towards a portfolio of analytics services
Collaborate with business teams to embed successful models into existing Business Processes and also with IT teams where services can be complimented with industrialized solutions
Co-innovate with solution and product partners to explore and implement new solutions that can be incorporated into the landscape in order to provide advanced End User Experience and capabilities
Responsible for developing and maintaining data models for advanced analytics so that Nestlé can deliver the ASL Service Catalog at scale
Liaise with IT Architects, Master Data, Integration and other IT work streams to ensure solutions are designed with the most appropriate technology
Analyze complex data sets to answer strategic and operational business questions
Collaborate and share expertise with the ASL Expert Community to further build Nestle capabilities
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or another related study
5+ years of experience within the data engineering field
5+ years of experience with SQL, NoSQL, relational database design, methods for efficiently retrieving data, as well as data preparation/wrangling both on demand and in an industrialized way
Experience programming in Python, Scala, R, Java, SQL, and/or similar language
Master’s or PhD degree
Experience with cloud based technologies such as Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, etc.
Big Data experience
Experience working in a global environment with virtual teams
Experience using Power BI
