We are currently recruiting for a Quality Specialist – Pilot Plant at our Fremont, Michigan location.
Main Purpose of Job:
Ensure that the quality processes in the NDC Pilot Plant are carried out according to the Nestle requirements for R&D; Support quality by design process for Pilot Plant trials and provide expertise including product specific assistance to Nestle Nutrition. Ensure product compliance to standards during development of Pilot Plant trials. Coordinate NMS compliance program, including regulatory and Nestle requirements, for the Pilot Plant and site.
Pilot Plant Quality Processes:
Develop, implement and maintain Nestle quality programs in the Pilot Plant. Create Operational HACCP’s for the different technologies used in the Pilot Plant. Manage the prerequisite programs, CCP’s and OPRP’s for products manufactured in the Pilot Plant. Review production records and manage release of test material produced in the Pilot Plant. Ensure that project managers and product developers are trained as needed in NesTMS and other quality requirements.
NMS Coordinate the Nestle Management System (NMS) for the site and manage full implementation of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) for Pilot Plant. Represent the Pilot Plant in internal and external audits of the NMS process. Participate in audits, gap assessments and technical assistance as requested.
I2L Ensure that all development trials reaching the pilot plant include appropriate Quality and Compliance aspects. Support completion of Quality deliverables for Pilot Plant projects according to local and Nestle requirements. Participate actively in the Local Food Safety team.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (preferred microbiology, chemistry or food science) with 2 years of applicable experience. Master in food science/technology is preferred.
Quality and Food Safety experience within food manufacturing is required
Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams.
Experience with implementation of external standards, including ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000required. Specific NMS experience is preferred.
