We are currently seeking a Senior Manager, Sustainable Innovation & Technology to be located in Stamford, CT and report to the VP, Chief Sustainability Officer.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Identify new technology and solutions focused on sustainability with both technical and economic viability
Ensure multiple ideas are generated and tested for Nestlé Waters
Formulate and implement innovation strategy
Partner with IT to secure ownership or privileged access to technologies that may direct the company’s future, and help address current or future customer and consumer needs
Manage sustainable pipeline of concepts from ideation stage through in-product group testing, championing breakthrough innovation initiatives and projects, and ensures that they demonstrate the ability to deliver business value
Understand consumer needs, key market, and cultural trends relevant to business objectives
Support breakthrough thinking and entrepreneurial culture to identify leading edge solutions
Ability to rapidly modify innovative ideas or responses to business changes
Build the capability of internal stakeholders to evaluate external trends and ideas and envision value technology and disruptive innovation and business models can bring
Collaborate with the company’s Advanced Analytics team to turn sustainability related data into useful information from which business intelligence can be developed to inform business strategy and key decisions.
Collaborate with the marketing innovation team supporting its efforts and assisting in the development of new products and services that position Nestlé Water as a sustainability leader
Create new data-driven approaches for the purpose of generating business insights through data analytics, information visualization, and addressing unanswered business issues in a proactive manner.
Build effective partnerships and collective actions with external organizations that measurably create shared value
Key qualifications include:
B.S. or M.S. degree in Engineering, Data Science or related field
Experience developing sustainable technology at a Consumer Packaged Goods company
Expert in innovation insights tools and processes
Experience in technology, innovation, and knowledge exchange networks
Experience in organizing and facilitating ideation workshops
Experience of agile / iterative innovation management methodologies (idea to concept to completion, design thinking, lean start-up).
Applied experience in implementing innovative solutions to technical challenges
Understanding and curiosity of how to technologies are applied by best-in-class companies
Knowledge of new and evolving technologies and innovations and proven ability to apply them to solve societal, environmental, and economic specific issues.
Knowledge of and ability to manage processes, strategies, and tactics to develop new innovative products and services
Proven track record in deploying and scaling analytical methodologies to drive business value (customer experience, supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, etc.)
Ability to understand business priorities and align sustainability actions, especially leveraging technology, data, advanced analytics to meet business needs.
Ability to find the pressing problems of business and society and then find ways to apply technologies to solve these problems.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assess priorities effectively.
Strategic thinker that can align operating company needs with Nestlé global strategy priorities.
Knowledge of and skills to use various data scientist tools and techniques
Communication and influencing skills.
Ability to navigate a matrixed internal environment.
