Quality Assurance Lead:
POSITION SUMMARY The quality assurance lab technician is responsible to perform sampling and data recording for raw materials and final products to maintain the highest product quality possible to achieve minimal customer complaints and high key quality metrics.
The quality assurance lab technician is responsible to operate the additive and batching systems to ensure the correct amount of additive is applied in the best possible manner to achieve the best sensory and measurable results.
The quality assurance lab technician must be able to work a flexible work schedule, including weekday, weekend and holidays overtime as required to meet customer demand and quality department needs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :  
  1. Maintain a clean, safe and organized lab & additives environment.
  1. Collect samples, perform all relevant tests and enter results from testing and operator line attribute weight recording into WinSPC/SAP and act on the results to promote continuous quality improvement.
  2. WinSPC collection plans
  3. Results recording in SAP
  4. Usage decisions in SAP
  5. Operate additive applications and batching process to maintain the right quantity and quality of raw materials for packaging.
Additive batching HMI
  1. Work closely with process, packaging and maintenance teams to promote quality awareness and proficiency. 
  2. Initiate & maintain NRR & DMR’s in VCC database on Share Point for nonconforming materials
  3. Monitor the packaging process to identify non-conforming finished products and ensure they are prevented from reaching customers, using formal release, status hold, tagging nonconforming materials & finished goods.
  4. Calibrate and maintain lab testing equipment on a weekly basis.
  5. Process bentonite COA’s, perform sample checks and enter test results.
  6. Maintain efficient files and records (paper & electronic) of lab test information.
  7. Assist TAG and QA management with quality projects, raw material trials and testing in additives and packaging.
  8. Collect, package & ship sample requisitions as required to meet collaborative sampling needs.
  9. Perform additive inventory and maintain a high awareness of the additives process effectiveness.
  10. Occasionally lift and transport materials weighing 50 pounds.
  11. Assist in training new QA Lab technicians and packaging associates.
  12. Work required overtime to maintain packaging productivity and provide back up for QA technician training and PTO.
  13. Assist in auditing the quality awareness of all associates with quality tasks and external audit preparations.
  14. Record package line weights, monitor net contents control policy adherence.
Coaching/Leading Responsibilities:
  1. Be part of interview teams for QA and PKG
  2. Provide feedback to peers and Team leaders on Operators’ performance to NQMS
  3. Provides technical expertise/coaching as needed in all areas and initiatives of the function.  Partners with other key functions on initiatives including Engineering, Operations, HR, Quality, NCE, etc. to deliver on goals and plans.
    Perform all other duties as assigned

    • Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by management.
    • As determined by position or task, adheres to and cooperates with factory and divisional quality standards/requirements and department(s) in order to build consumer trust and preference by providing quality brands, products and services; maintains and ensures 0 defect and 0 waste attitude without compromising safety or regulatory compliance.
    • Performs all quality checks as required by position and/or product and as documented within factory quality system.  Ensures understanding and abides by the Nestle Quality Management System.
    Other duties as assigned.
    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):
    Education:
    High School diploma or equivalent required.
    1. Experience (Years/Type):
    2. 2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
    3. 1 or more years of MRP experience
    4. Performed and analyzed QA Tests to ensure adherence to a standard
    Skills:
    Detail Oriented, problem solver, ability to perform analysis and validate results
    Proficient in basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office applications
    Strong communication skills and organization skills
    Displays ability to both lead and support teams
    Proficient with formal problem solving methods

    Comofortable with using Excel to graph and analyze data
