POSITION SUMMARY: This role is responsible for leading the vision and the commercial growth for specific segments of our Vitamin Mineral and Supplements (VMS) portfolio. This person will not only deliver growth through bold innovative ideas aligned to the overall business strategy but will also achieve organic growth through the robust “go to market” plans cemented in our customer and consumer knowledge. S/he should demonstrate a strong passionate for Nutrition and Wellness and the role it plays in Baby’s development, understand the importance of connecting at a personal, emotional level with our consumers and be a savvy user of both consumer/customer insights and the new channels for communication. Responsibilities include strategic assessment of market opportunities, trend tracking, white space exploration, concept validation, developing P&Ls and working collaboratively with a cross-functional team to lead the base business and innovation process.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: OVERALL BUSINESS MANAGEMENT & PIPELINE DEVELOPMENT (50%) •Lead the development of a multi-year business strategy for specific segments of VMS that ladder up to the overall VMS Strategy •Perform monthly business analysis of Category & Segment performance for Gerber and Competitive set. Lead cross-functional team to identify Opportunities and Risks and develop plan to deliver on annual target •Collaborate with Consumer Insights and Analytics team to develop and execute a robust learning agenda to identify consumer needs and close information gaps to support business strategy •As a business owner, this person plays an active role in the decisions that determine price & promotional activity for her portfolio together with Financial Co-Pilots and CCSD (Channel Category Sales Development) partners •Lead the development of an Innovation & Renovation pipeline that integrates marketplace trends, nutritional, developmental and wellness needs of Infants & Toddlers and Moms and identify white space opportunities •Influence in the exploration and prioritization of existing and proposed new product opportunities for the specific portfolio segment •S/he is a leader that effectively engages cross-functional teams (Regulatory Affairs, Legal, etc.) in the execution of innovation/renovation projects aligned with the vision
EXECUTION OF THE COMMUNICATION STRATEGY (25%) •S/he will actively participate in the development and implementation of brand's communication strategies with all relevant partners and will own the specific development of communication strategies related to his/her segment taking care of the assigned marketing budget •S/he plays a key role in the implementation of the consumer/customer communication campaigns through media and public relations •This person will provide thought leadership and coordination of Packaging Communication strategies
PARTICIPATE IN CUSTOMER/CHANNEL SPECIFIC MARKETING ACTIVITIES (15%) •S/he is active in the development of Customer or Channel Specific Marketing activities under the mentorship of the CCSD (Channel Category Sales Development) counterpart
TALENT & CULTURE DEVELOPMENT (10%) •This person is an advocate and example of a collaborative and constructive culture •S/he is energized and a believer of Gerber’s purpose (proudly committed to babies) and values (we care, trust empower, obsess, win)
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL: •Bachelor’s degree required •MBA in relevant Marketing subject area preferred •5+ years of related marketing experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods
