PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Receiving of materials into building at shipping/receiving dock; entering information in NesTMS database to assure accurate trace recall and proper inventory/accounting records.
- Moving materials received into proper storage locations; maintaining accurate inventory records of stored items; moving materials from storage into usage areas to support PD work as needed.
- Fill and order ingredients as needed to support PD.
- Conducting routine inventory to maintain agreed upon levels of ingredients and materials in PD storage areas and for determining restocking requirements; including monitoring of shelf life and FIFO practices.
- Adhering to high sanitation, GMP, safety standards. Responsible for keeping lower level storage areas well organized and clean, and assisting with first floor storage areas as needed.
- Must receive certification in the use of motorized pallet jack and motorized stand-up reach lift truck.
- Must have and maintain safe driving record and valid driver’s license to operate company owned vehicles. Receive DOT certification for vehicle operation. Will be making deliveries and pick-ups between Nestle facilities and other locations as needed.
- Assist when needed in any facility or equipment sanitation, set-up or inspection.
- Must maintain accurate, thorough records.
- Orders ingredients, supplies, stocking, inventories samples and assembles customer shipments. Required to complete training for safe handling of dry ice as SOP requires.
- Shipping products/materials using the UPS system and or AIT process.
- Be proficient in the use of building cooler/freezer and fire alarm systems.
- Participation in departmental activities such as meetings, committees, administrative obligations (phone, e-mail).
- Maintaining technical/culinary skills and personal improvement through appropriate activities.
- Working in extreme temperatures and typical commercial/industrial environments. Physically demanding work.
- Continually demonstrating proficient communications and ability to work in a team environment under short timelines.
- Work schedule may vary depending on business needs.
Other projects and duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
Advanced training/education a plus in food science, mechanical/electrical or equivalent preferred.
Must be comfortable working in food manufacturing and culinary environments.
Must have a good driving record and valid driver’s license.
Must be able to vary work schedule as needed to accomplish business needs.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 years of food-industry experience preferred.
SKILLS:
- The individual must have good creative, problem solving and organizational skills, as well as good communications skills.
- Experience with a variety of mechanical, electrical and/or food processing systems is desirable.
- Individual must be able to work independently while able to support the overall objectives of a team.
- Candidate must be able to thrive in a fast paced, multi- project/task environment and be comfortable working with people of varying disciplines and levels: upper management, sales, product development, marketing, R&D, manufacturing, and plant personnel.
- Computer proficiency in electronic communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and NesTMS preferred.
- Proficient in time management.
- Good math and problemsolving skills.
- Able to work in a team environment.
