Our Regulatory Team provides fundamental regulatory and nutrition knowledge to help support our innovation, renovation and external affair projects get to the market, via compliance activity, through effective communication with our marketing, legal, quality, procurement and technical services groups. The team uses technical knowledge of national pet food regulations in the areas of responsibility to minimize negative regulatory impact upon the business.
The Director of Regulatory and Scientific Affairs will lead a team of Regulatory Specialists to identify efficiencies and process improvements for speed to market and help plan the strategic direction of RSA incorporating a strong understanding of business needs and the principles of agility. In this role, you will assure together with legal and other relevant functions, early and effective regulatory assessments in Innovation & Renovation leading to compliance by design of ingredients, labels and communications. You will also utilize strong communication and influencing skills in conjunction with a thorough understanding of state and federal governmental affairs to promote the business interests of NPPC. This role will also represent Nestlé Purina to federal (FDA & USDA) and state regulatory authorities (AAFCO).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, food science, animal science or related field
- MS/MA or higher preferred
- 8+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, regulatory compliance, nutrition or product development in pet food, food, pharmaceutical, or related industries
- 5+ years of experience managing direct reports
